Background
Old Dragoons depicts a battle between two mounted
soldiers and two warriors on horseback. There are five horses, one of them
without a rider. This horse has the markings of a military mount.
The action in this bronze sculpture is evident in the posing of the figures as
well as the fact that out of twenty horses' hooves, only six are grounded.
